As another year comes to a close, it's time to reflect on the adventures we love the most; those with horses. One of the most memorable trips this year was our return to the Willamette Coast.

The Willamette Coast Ride isn’t just a trip—it’s an unforgettable journey that Ayla and I will cherish forever. Oregon’s breathtaking coast, winding through stunning wine country, enchanted forests, and wind-swept beaches, creates the perfect backdrop for a horseback adventure that made us feel truly alive in the moment.

From Vineyards to Forests

Our adventure began in the lush Willamette Valley, where rolling vineyards and serene farmland stretched out before us. Ayla bonded instantly with her horse, Dende, a former show jumper, while I was paired with Peter. The first day, we took it easy, mostly walking with a few brief canters, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. The evening ended with a wine-tasting session (just for me—don’t worry), where we savored the region’s finest wines.

Day two took us deeper into the coastal forests. Tall trees, thick moss, and secluded trails challenged us with steep slopes and overgrown brush, but the horses navigated with confidence. With more opportunities for cantering along logging roads and even a small log jump for Ayla and Dende, the excitement continued to build.

The Grand Finale: The Oregon Coast

Nothing compares to the thrill of reaching the Pacific Ocean. Galloping along two separate beaches, with the waves crashing and horses thundering beneath us, was pure joy and exhilaration. It's easily the highlight of the trip—the kind of heart-pounding freedom we live for. The moment was electric, reminding us to embrace the present.
